Wendy Zinn, a co-founder of Camp Summit, has been involved in gifted education and enrichment programming for the last two decades and has always dreamed of opening a camp for gifted children. Currently, Wendy is the Project Manager for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) educational enrichment and outreach to middle and high school students in the San Bernadino Community College District. Wendy is our Executive Director and is the directive force behind the scenes that makes Camp Summit the ideal destination for gifted children each summer. Wendy loves to participate in all of the camp activities and loves to see the campers having fun.
Dan Peters is a licensed psychologist and co-founder and Executive Director of the Summit Center. Dr. Dan, as he is known throughout camp, specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families with special emphasis on gifted, talented, and creative growth. Dan is a widely known speaker and author of the 'Make Your Worrier a Warrior' series. Dr. Dan participates in most of Camp Summits programs from Rube Goldberg Machines to Hikes/Beach and much more. He is often found working with campers in his 'usual' plaid shirt accompanied by a camera around his neck.
Susan Daniels is the co-founder and Educational Director of the Summit Center. Susan is a internationally recognized author/speaker, and is a Professsor of Educational Psychology and Counseling at California State University-San Bernadino, where she also directs the College of Education Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education. Susan has a passion for creativity and the arts and can be found most days leading the arts program at Camp Summit West, demonstrating and assisting campers in a host of creative arts.
